The longest day....

The longest day of the year.... might actually be one of the longest days of my life.
It doesn't help that I have a cold... this is certainly not helping.
But back to yesterday.... I woke up at 5:15 mostly anxious about the long day ahead. I had another hour to sleep... but I couldn't. So- I got up, showered and went to Bojangles.
The yard sale was set to start at 8am... but at 7 we had customers. So I ran to the back, woke up mom and she helped me get everything outside.

Mom and dad carrying a giant pole full of clothes.

By 8am I had already sold 65$ worth of stuff. Not to shabby.
I ended the day with 350$ DUDDDDDE. worth it.
maybe.
ok i dunno actually.
ok it was.

I didn't sell nearly as much as I had hoped... so we had to load it ALLLL up and haul it away.
3 loads to a local mission and 1 load to a consignment shop to make a little more money.

Then mom & I cleaned up the parsonage and got it back to move in ready parsonage style....

It looks DRASTICALLY different than it did 3 years ago.
Mainly the floors, the wall colors, and the smells. But more than that---- it all looks different. I look in a room and have flashes of memories. Late nights in our living room. Family game nights around the table. The hours upon hours of rocking on our front porch. The craft nights. The laughter that has filled this home for 3 years. The tears. The ups and downs. It all hit me on that final walk through... this chapter in life has one more week.

Well... those weren't the only tears of the day. So---- during the cleaning I somehow managed to get a splinter in my finger. It was massive (as in two holes, in and out) and it hurt. I screamed and cried- but wrapped it in toliet paper and a pony tail holder and went on with the day. I had to clean! Once we got back to Asheville i took it off and looked at it and thought it was strange. I couldn't see a massive splinter.
Dad got the tweezers out and pulled---- I SCREAMED. He felt something break and pulled out a piece of glass.

So there ya go. Glass in my finger.

So I had to go in to MY clinic and be a patient....
They numbed up my finger and had to cut out the piece of glass. Thanks to my dad for this quite humorous pictures.

Well the side trip to Urgent care didn't slow me down. We went back to the Asheville house (our house. THE house) and organized/cleaned a little more. Ryan and my mom went and bought a bed for the guest room.... good news for all you folks who are going to visit soon! ((sara))
then we finally had dinner around 9:00.

IT WAS A LONGGGGGGG day. The longest day of the year. The longest day I have had in a long long time.
