Craft weekend... #1

this past weekend i hosted the first of, hopefully, many craft weekends.
i have big dreams of an annual craft weekend bringing women together to craft, relax, and leave refreshed. hopefully this will turn into that. but for now- we started small. we had a few other invited, but had other things to tend to. hopefully in the future we will have a date. time. cost. well ahead of time.

for the 3 of us- i think it was an awesome success.
we had a blast. laughed a lot. relaxed. told stories. caught up on life. and crafted.
oh buddy did we craft.
we turned our dining room into a craft studio, that spilled into the living room.
it was so fun.
and exhausting, but somehow, i did leave refreshed and renewed.

here is a rundown of our weekend... as brief as i could possibly be.
hopefully you enjoy :)

for those who dont know, meet sara.
she's my sista' from another mama.
we met in college.
she makes me a better person.
anyway.
our first project was this super cute apron.
surprisingly SIMPLE.
we whipped this thing up in no time!

next up were some hoops.
because as ryan said, "these are really in right now, according to pinterest"

sara wanted some bunting with cute letters hung to it...
this way she can have fun sayings hanging up year round.
i love this idea!
and loved the way it turned out...

allison wanted to make a wreath that she could change out seasonally... so here is our fall wreath that can easily be changed to christmas, spring, or summer! just pull out the flowers and replace them!
((also these beautiful vine wreaths were 1$ scores at a local goodwill!))

thanks to my awesome mom-in-law we got this great idea from pinterest. she sent it over thinking our little nephew llew, and sara's little lillie would LOVE this at Christmas time!

we used fleece as a base, and made lots of cute felt ornaments to stick on it. we also used lots of ribbon. and rick-rack (our favorite word). and hot glue. lots and lots and lots of hot glue.

one of our last projects, was probably my favorite.
pool noodle from the dollar store bent and duct taped into a wreath form.
then more hot glue and lots of fabric and wahhlahhh....

i really, realllly liked the way these turned out!
i see a Christmast one in my future.

all in all this weekend was a success.
i am really thankful for these two women and the joy they add to my life.
i am excited about our future craft weekends and watching this fun little thing grow into something bigger :)
